How to Get a Permit in European Union

No permit available for private keeping. Article 7 prohibits keeping, breeding, transporting, placing on the market, using, exchanging, permitting reproduction, growing, or releasing into the environment.

Added to the Union List by Implementing Regulation 2022/1203 (August 2022). Also covers S. geminata, S. richteri, and Wasmannia auropunctata. The 2024 Menchetti et al. policy paper in Biological Conservation recommended prohibiting all alien ant introductions for commercial purposes.
